NYC FAIR strives to ensure that families in New York City are informed of changes to the service system and have the resources to be effective advocates. Many of the services and supports for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are a result of hard-fought advocacy from family members–and we want to preserve what they achieved and to continue to reinforce the importance of housing, medical, social, and therapeutic services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities! We are looking to the next generation of parents, siblings and others to become active participants in the lives of our loved ones as current family leaders are aging.
